Studio Etiquette

  • Classes begin promptly, so please arrive on time (the practice of asteya — non-stealing — acknowledges that tardiness steals time from other students as well as from the teacher). Studio is open 30 minutes prior to each class;
  • Refrain from wearing cologne, perfume, and heavily scented products to practice;
  • Upon arrival, students are encouraged to sign in, and then to proceed to the studio, setting up their own sacred practice space, mindful of the quietude of other students;
  • Entry to the studio is through the garage—please remove shoes before ascending to the studio. There is a large closet for your use at the entrance door;
  • Refrain from eating for at least 2 hours prior to practicing;
  • Turn off, or leave in car, all cellular telephones, pagers, or beeping watches;
  • New students, please allow 10-15 minutes to complete the registration form and to meet with the teacher;
  • Practice often to receive all of the benefits that yoga offers;
  • Drink plenty of water;
  • Enjoy, and allow yourself to be fully present for your practice!
