About Śānti Yoga
And introducing the beloved Japanese Chin, Sake! (a.k.a., 'Zen Dog')
Chris Warner opened the doors to Śānti Yoga of West Boxford, serving Boston's North Shore and the Merrimack Valley, in January of 2007. Having practiced and studied yoga and meditation for more than a decade, it was her husband, Michael Maguire, who provided her with the inspiration to share the gifts of the practice with others.
Chris invites you to join her in this beautiful boutique studio: a serene practice space, in the retreat-like setting of pastoral West Boxford. The studio, filled with natural light, is outfitted with wide-plank mahogany floors, plantation-shuttered windows, and skylights, and is fully equipped with all mats, props, sound-system, and amenities, including a bathroom with full rain shower for student convenience. Chris teaches a wide variety of practice styles, with a range of highly skilled, talented and compassionate instructors, all grounded in the ancient wisdom of mindfulness, for all levels of experience; however, no matter the style of yoga she is teaching, Chris's intention at Śānti Yoga is singular: We practice not only for ourselves, but so that we might then be of benefit to all beings.>
The name 'Śānti' (pronounced 'shaahntee') comes from the sacred Sanskrit, from the verb Śam, meaning 'to be at peace.' 'Śānti' is the eternal principle of calm and repose. Our intention at Śānti Yoga and Wellness is the cultivation of inner peace and contentment, and strength of body, mind and spirit through the practice of yoga and meditation.
We invite you to come along with us on this journey...
